Aqua Best is one of the most well-known seafood suppliers in New York City. After decades of operation, they are trying to rethink and innovate the way they do their business both from the wholesale side, as well as the direct to customer side. In order for their business to grow, they realize that they need to be able to reach the younger target market, and make cooking seafood approachable and not intimidating.
Being a family business that has been around for decades, the Aqua Best brand was never been made a priority. There are inconsistencies with the brand language, and there's no defined mission that unites the business as a brand.
For Aqua Best, we helped them define their mission and goals as a business, generate a brand voice, and develop a brand identity that they can replicate and maintain across multiple platforms both online and in-store.
Keeping in mind the goal to modernize Aqua Best and reaching out to a brand new audience, we decided to move as far away as possible from the common image of a seafood supplier. We use a bright and playful color palette to showcase the line of products. Working with our sister company, Novel Objects, we build an exclusive library of seafood that is unique to Aqua Best.
We also use the color palette to distinguish information, between the product, the business, and the wholesale division of Aqua Best.
Along with the rollout with the new brand, we developed a brand new Mobile-friendly e-commerce website using their pre-existing Shopify product database. The new website features an easy-to-manage stock, updatable wholesale information, and custom product unit.
Leveraging the image library we built for Aqua Best, we also developed a brand language for social media both from the visual as well as the written content standpoint.
